Silver Lake Ditch – Ditch Status: OPEN, but not without challenges

Dear all who love and care about the Silver Lake Ditch!

We are in dry hard times and the heat and baking sun are settling over us. Despite all odds we are sending what little allotted water we have down to our users. Every day there is disappointment that it hasn’t made it further and every night it is the same. The thirsty earth and plants and air are taking their fill first- what can we say?

For now we are trying to send water to you.

Here’s how!
1) Keeping the ditch at our allotted maximum amount- which means overseeing all that happens before it reaches the measuring flume
2) Keeping an eye out for escaping water and jam ups through town
3) Monitoring those who have received water and asking them to cut back until the down-stream users actually get some water
4) Responding to concerns that arise
