Water Status: Wondering when the water will flow? Not quite yet, but be sure your lateral is ready to go!
Ditch Status:
Eric Johnson, City of Boulder Watershed manager says the snowpack is a little above 100% but it’s been cool and not much melting up there. Boulder Creek is pretty low right now and it’s not looking good for much runoff. He says that if we start now, it will be on C-BT exchange water, which does count against our storage allocation.
Our thinking is that as long as we’re continuing to get this moisture, and temperatures remain relatively cool, we should continue to hold off bringing the water down.
Meanwhile, we can concentrate on getting our main ditch and laterals completely clean and ready to go at a moments notice, should we get the call that we’re in priority.
Let’s keep doing our rain dances… hopefully big rains in the north east corner of the state will reduce the senior calls on the river, so we can have a crack at some runoff (free) water for flushing!
